This book continues the story of the Araulen Kingdom war with Morgarath. Mogarath has rallied an army of Wargals to fight him in the war. Halt acquired secret documents from Morgarath; Will, Gilan and Horace was sent to confirm that information in Celtica. On the way they met a girl called Evanlyn. She told Will that she was one of Princess Cassandra’s maids who maid it back alive. They followed a small group of Wargals back to their camp. They discovered that the secret documents were actually a trap; they were building a huge bridge to cross. Will successfully destroyed the bridge but he and Evanlyn was taken by the Skandians (mercenaries hired by Morgarath). Morgarth was killed by Morgarth and the Araulen army defeated the Wargals. Halt pursued the Skandiands but was too late. Overall this is a good story but it wasn’t as funny as the one before.
My favorite character was Gilan because he was a special ranger. He was he only ranger that carries a sword and a bow.
