This is the first book in the series, Rangers Apprentice, written by John Flanagan. This book tells the story of a boy called Will, an orphan, who was brought up in the Ward (a place where orphan lives). When the children grow up they have to be selected by teacher and that teacher will teach them a career. Only one person wanted to teach Will was Halt the ranger. Rangers were an organization of highly skilled scouts man and archers in the entire kingdom of Araulen, there were only fifty rangers . The thing that I like most about this book is how the author described the Ranger, Halt as being small because when people think of heroes they often think of people who is tall and big. The blurb was also very well design; there was one of Halts quote on it. It said: ‘The boy will have the potential to become a ranger. I will take him as my apprentice’ Overall this book is very good recommended for people age 10 or above.
